SFL Worldwide is providing Shipping and Moving service since 2004. SFL Worldwide started as shipping outlet focusing on courier shipment domestic and international to meet our growing customer requirement, we acquitted TSA license and started to provide Air Freight Services to Customer.  Later down the road SFL Worldwide received NVOCC accreditation from FMC and start offering worldwide relocation services to customer and Ocean freight to our commercial account.

3. Is SFL Worldwide license, insured and bonded?

Yes.  Below are licenses SFL Worldwide has acquired to perform Shipping & Moving in USA and Worldwide.

Ocean – Licensed as NVOCC by FMC to provide Ocean Freight to our customers. 

Air – Licensed by TSA as Indirect Air Carrier to allow us to move shipment by Air Freight. 

Ground – Licensed by Texas Department of Transportation TX DOT to offer Ground Logistics.

1. Can I offer SFL Services at my Location?

Yes currently we are adding ASO (Authorized Shipping Outlet) to our network. Depending on your location and accessibility we can review your application and assist you with becoming ASO for SFL Worldwide. Please contact us with your location specification and we can assist your further.

2. Do I need any prior shipping or moving experience?

No, as soon as you are approved to become ASO for SFL Worldwide we will provide you complete online and phone training to operate this business. As an ASO you will also receive all marketing and business process documentation to assist customer with moving and shipping needs. 

3. How much should I expect to earn as SFL worldwide shipping Outlet

Revenue of Authorized Shipping Outlet depends up on number of factors like store location, current foot traffic and type of product or services currently offered.  As there are number of factors involved we are unable to provide a set value. We recommend you contact us to get more information.

  • Packing and Moving Inventory like boxes, packing tape, and bubble roll etc. We will provide standard list of inventory to be stored.

1. Can I pre pay Custom duty in USA or how do I pay Custom Duty in India?

No, you cannot pay custom duty upfront, once shipment arrives in India; Indian customs ascertain value of your shipment and calculate custom duty. Once customs office notifies us customs duty we will contact you to collect custom duty and pay to customs on your behalf.  Once custom duty is paid customs will release shipment and we will door deliver shipment to final destination.

2. How does custom value ascertain?

Custom duty is ascertain by type and value of your shipment.  We do not provide any upfront custom duty estimate. You may want to check with Indian custom department to ascertain custom duties on your shipment.

3. I am moving back to India do I get any advantage on custom duty?

Yes, if you are moving back to India and are eligible for Transfer of Residence you can take advantage of custom duty relief offered by Indian customs.

Duty Free or Reduced Duty Allowance – TR process allows eligible candidate to avail duty free import on certain household good and reduced custom duty on others.

Depreciation Entitlement – If household articles are used, TR process will allow standard depreciation depending upon type and age of article.

4. I am moving back to India, am I eligible for Transfer of Residence?

Foreign Nationals

To claim the transfer of residence “Foreign nationals” must have a valid “one year resident visa” from the date of arrival into India AND they must get a resident permit card within 2 weeks of arrival into India.

Indian Nationals

Minimum stay of 2 years aboard, immediately preceding the date of his arrival on transfer of residence.

Total stay in India on short visit during the preceding 2 year should not be exceed 6 month

Passenger or any member of his family has not availed this concession in the preceding 3 years.

5. I am sending a gift to my friends and/or family do I still need to pay customs?

Anything non-document items are dutiable product and eligible for custom duties depending on value ascertained by India customs.  Even though you are sending gifts to friends or family they are considered dutiable products for Indian Customs.

6. I am shipping used items to India, do I still pay customs?

If you are relocating back to India and are eligible for Transfer of residence then you may get relief of customs duty. Otherwise customs will ascertain current value of your shipment and apply custom duty accordingly.

1. Do you provide Insurance?

Yes, all our shipment comes with free movers insurance, Movers Insurance provide coverage of $0.60 per LBS per package. Additional insurance optional are available at additional cost.

2. Do you provide Tracking?

Yes, as soon as you complete your schedule shipment process on our website you will provided with unique tracking number to allow you to track your shipment door to door with 24/7 access.

4. I do not have entire container worth of shipment can I share container with someone?

We have various options from baggage shipping, LCL Shipping and FCL Shipping. If you do not have volume for entire container we will co-load your shipment with other customer in container and this process is called LCL (Less Than Container Load) shipping. Your shipment will sequenced and Palletized for safety and security of your goods. Once container reached destination we will clear your shipment with customs and provide you door delivery with unpacking, assembly and removal of packing debris.

5. I just have few boxes, can I ship by Ocean?

Yes, there is no minimum requirement to ship via ocean shipping.  We can ship even 1 box to entire house.  We have various shipping option depending upon customer requirement. We have baggage shipping option for customer who is having 1 to 5 large boxes. For customer more than 5 large boxes (30 cubic feet) we have Less then container (LCL) shipping option, where customer will pay by volume not by weight.  Finally for customers having high volume we have Full Container Load (FCL) options.

6. If I ship by ocean do I get charged by weight or volume?

Depending on size of your shipment it may be charged by weight or volume. If you are shipping under 30 CFT (6 large boxes) it is considered as baggage shipping and will be charged by weight. If you are shipping more than 30 CFT it will be considered as LCL shipping and will be charged by volume.

7. Is there any minimum requirement to ship under relocation process?

No, there is no minimum requirement on what and how much you need to ship under relocation process. You can ship from just 1 box to entire house. But please be advise more you ship better per Cubic feet price you can get.

8. What all different moving options I have with SFL Worldwide?

We offer multiple moving options for customer convenience. We offer Door to Door, Door to Port and   Port to Port moving options. Our Door to Door moving is full service moving which comes with packing, loading, Freight, custom clearance, delivery, unpacking, assembly and removal of packing debris.

10. What is cubic Feet (CFT) means?

Cubit feet is measurement used to ascertain volume of a shipment. Cubit feet is international standard to charge ocean fright for overseas shipment.

To calculate the volume of a given item or space in cubic feet, measure the length, width and height in feet and multiply the results together. For example, a storage unit 10 feet long, 6 feet wide and 8 feet high could be described as having a capacity of 480 cubic feet (10 x 6 x 8 = 480).

11. What is standard transit time?

Standard transit time for air shipping is 3-15 days ocean shipping is around 60-90 days. Transit time depends on location you are shipping; please contact our office to get transit time specific to your destination.

1. Can I pay in India or USA?

Yes you can pay in India or USA. If you pay in India additional service Tax will be ascertained per India Tax regulations.

2. Do you offer commercial shipping from India to USA?

Yes we can ship from minimum 1 kg to large cargo. If you are business owner and require for commercial freight to be shipped from India we can offer you air and ocean fright depending on size and volume of your shipment. Not only business we also offer freight service from India for non-profit organization. We have experience with commercial clearance in India and USA for smooth clearance and delivery process.

3. Do you pick up from anywhere in India?

Yes we provide pickup from almost anywhere.  Once you schedule your shipment on our website our India office will contact sender to arrange for date and time for pickup.  Generally we can arrange pickup within 24-48 hours from time you schedule your shipment.

4. Do you provide Insurance?

No, we do not provide insurance for shipment originating from India as most of the shipment are Packed by owner and not eligible for insurance.  Please contact our office if you need further assistance on this question.

5. Do you provide packing services in India?

Yes we do provide packing depending upon pickup locations.  Packing charges are additional depending on location, content and weight of your shipment.  We recommend customer to have shipment packed and ready for pickup for expedited shipping.

6. Do you provide tracking?

Yes as soon as you schedule your shipment on our website you will be assigned with unique tracking number to track your shipment from door to door delivery.

7. Is there any custom duties on shipment from India to USA?

1. Can I Ship by Ocean Shipping?

Yes we offer shipping services via Ocean Freight.  Depending on weight, volume and transit time we can help ascertain if shipping by Air or Ocean will be most cost effective.

Transit time and minimum volume requirement varies by Country, please check with our support staff to get more information on minimum volume requirement and transit time. 

2. Do you provide Door to Door Shipping?

Yes we do provide door to door shipping with tracking and insurance for all shipping and moving services.

We offer door pickup almost anywhere in the world for nominal pickup charge and door delivery comes with no extra cost. To avoid additional pickup charges customer can drop off their packages at nearest drop-off location. 

3. Do you provide Insurance on my goods?

Yes all our shipment comes with Movers Liability Insurance. With our Movers Liability Insurance shipments are automatically insured for $0.60/lbs./package.  For any reason shipment is lost or damage shipment is covered up to $0.60 per lbs. We also offer additional insurance at additional cost, please contact our customer support staff to learn about additional insurance options.

4. Do you provide tracking services?

Yes all our shipment comes with 24/7 online tracking updates. As soon as you complete your schedule shipment process on our website you will be assigned with unique tracking number which can you used to track your shipment till door delivery. We also provide additional notification whereby we can notify customer with real time updates on their shipments.

5. How does Shipping Process works?

No, we do not have any minimum weight requirement we can ship from document to large cargo. We can arrange pickup from almost anywhere with no minimum weight or volume requirement.

8. What is Chargeable or Billable Weight?

Compare the package’s actual weight to its dimensional weight. The greater of the two is the billable weight and should be used to calculate the rate. For example, actual weight of shipment is 10 LBS and Dimensional Weight of shipment is 15 LBS, billable or chargeable weight of shipment is 15 LBS, higher of actual or dimensional weight.

9. What is Dimensional Weight?

Dimensional weight reflects package density, which is the amount of the space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight. Dimensional weight may apply to all domestic and international shipments.

Determine the package dimensions in inches. For each dimension, measure at the longest point, rounding each measurement to the nearest whole number (for example 4.51 inches will be considered 5 inches). 

Multiply the package length by the width by the height. The result is the cubic size in inches. 

For Domestic Shipments:  Divide the cubic size in inches by 166 to determine dimensional weight in pounds. Increase any fraction to the next whole pound 

For International Shipments: For export and import shipments, divide the cubic size in inches by 139 to determine the dimensional weight. Increase any fraction to the next whole pound

3. Do you provide Insurance on my goods?

Yes all our shipment comes with Movers Liability Insurance. With our Movers Liability Insurance shipments are automatically insured for $0.60/lbs./package.  For any reason shipment is lost or damage shipment is covered up to $0.60 per lbs. We also offer additional insurance at additional cost, please contact our customer support staff to learn about additional insurance options.

4. Do you provide tracking services?

Yes all our shipment comes with 24/7 online tracking updates. As soon as you complete your schedule shipment process on our website you will be assigned with unique tracking number which can you used to track your shipment till door delivery. We also provide additional notification whereby we can notify customer with real time updates on their shipments.

8. What is Chargeable or Billable Weight?

Compare the package’s actual weight to its dimensional weight. The greater of the two is the billable weight and should be used to calculate the rate. For example, actual weight of shipment is 10 LBS and Dimensional Weight of shipment is 15 LBS, billable or chargeable weight of shipment is 15 LBS, higher of actual or dimensional weight.

9. What is Dimensional Weight?

Dimensional weight reflects package density, which is the amount of the space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight. Dimensional weight may apply to all domestic and international shipments.

Determine the package dimensions in inches. For each dimension, measure at the longest point, rounding each measurement to the nearest whole number (for example 4.51 inches will be considered 5 inches). 

Multiply the package length by the width by the height. The result is the cubic size in inches. 

For Domestic Shipments:  Divide the cubic size in inches by 166 to determine dimensional weight in pounds. Increase any fraction to the next whole pound 

For International Shipments: For export and import shipments, divide the cubic size in inches by 139 to determine the dimensional weight. Increase any fraction to the next whole pound
